 \nThe field of galaxy formation and evolution is currently undergoing a re
 volution thanks to the latest observations from the James Webb Space Teles
 cope (JWST)\, which provide a fresh perspective on the mechanisms of galax
 y formation in the young universe. I will give an overview of our efforts 
 to achieve a comprehensive understanding of galaxy formation during the co
 smic dawn and how the first galaxies transformed the baryonic state of the
  Universe during cosmic reionization.
